Apple likely to launch M4 chip MacBook Air models in early 2025. Check details

Apple Inc. is planning a major update for its MacBook Air, with new models featuring M4 chips set to arrive in early 2025, The Verge reported. These updated versions are expected to be announced between January and March next year.

Although Apple will reveal several computer updates next week, the MacBook Air will not be included. Earlier this spring, Apple released M3-equipped MacBook Airs. The new models will follow the current M2 design and will be available in 13-inch and 15-inch sizes, according to the report.

The M4 update highlights Apple’s focus on advancing its silicon technology after the debut of the M3 chips. The new MacBook Airs will have a familiar sleek design but will offer enhanced performance with the new M4 chips.

Additionally, Apple will unveil new MacBook Pros, Mac Minis, and iMacs at the upcoming event. A refreshed Mac Studio, currently using M2 Max and M2 Ultra chips, is expected to launch between March and June 2025 following a March software release.

Apple is also developing an M4 Mac Pro, but no release timeline has been provided. Along with hardware updates, Apple plans to introduce a new iPhone SE, updated iPad Air models, upgraded iPad keyboards, and new entry-level iPads in the spring.
