Jeremy Renner offloads $18m ‘Star Trek’ recovery home

Jeremy Renner has offloaded his Los Angeles home where he recovered from his near-fatal snowplow accident in 2023.

The Marvel star spent months inside the home in Laurel Canyon, California, undergoing treatment for the injuries he sustained when he was run over by a snowplow on the grounds of his Lake Tahoe, Nevada, ranch in January 2023.

The accident left the 53-year-old with 38 broken bones and a collapsed lung, which required multiple surgeries and a lengthy rehabilitation process, much of which he completed inside the six-bedroom, nine-bathroom home.

Once described as his “forever home,” the Oscar nominee put it on the market in a bid to move on from the horrifying accident.

According to Realtor, “The Avengers” star earned a tidy profit on the property — which he bought for $US4 million ($A5.8 million) back in 2012 — he did not quite reach his asking price goal of $US12.99 million ($A19.7 million), settling instead for $US12.4 million ($A18.8 million).

Renner told the Wall Street Journal that when he purchased the home, it looked very much as it did when it was originally built in the 1960s, joking that there were “all these little Star Trek-looking buttons, all the stuff that was kind of cool and hi-tech in the 60s.”

Renner’s extensive upgrades have transformed the home into a modern gem while still keeping some of the original history and charm.

The property boasts a gated driveway, home theatre, guesthouse and recording studio where he has recorded several songs about his near-death experience.

The main bedroom features many luxuries including dual closets and a luxe bathroom. Outside the home, there is also a pool with a spa, plus bridges and waterfalls.

Renner was fortunate to be able to resume his role on the crime thriller series “Mayor of Kingstown” just a year after his accident.

It’s been reported that Renner also has a book in the works that will cover his life-defining accident and his long road to recovery.

He has a real “hawkeye” for spotting a great real estate deal because the cashed up actor has made a mint buying, fixing up and flipping homes in Tinseltown.

Before making a name for himself, Renner was buying and renovating property in Los Angeles.

What started as a side hustle with his business partner and fellow “The Hurt Locker” co-star Kristoffer Winters has become a multimillion-dollar affair with more than 20 homes flipped to date, including his mother’s house in Modesto.

The biggest Renner flip on record was a mansion in Holmby Hills he sold in 2013 for $24.95 million.

A single-level mansion sitting on two acres, it has six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, five fireplaces, a theatre, multiple pools and fountains throughout the property.

Renner purchased the pile for $7 million back in 2010.
