The software allows users to create <a href=\"https:\/\/openai.com\/index\/sora-is-here\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-t-l=\":b|z|k|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">&#8220;realistic videos&#8221;<\/a> from text, photos and other videos.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">As of Tuesday morning, new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jsonline.com\/story\/tech\/news\/2024\/12\/09\/open-ai-sora\/76867843007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-t-l=\":b|e|k|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">Sora<\/a> accounts could not be created, due to an influx established on Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">&#8220;We&#8217;re currently experiencing heavy traffic and have temporarily disabled Sora account creation,&#8221; a pop-up message read on the <a href=\"https:\/\/sora.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-t-l=\":b|z|k|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">Sora website<\/a>. &#8220;If you&#8217;ve never logged into Sora before, please check back again soon.&#8221;<\/p>\n<aside aria-label=\"advertisement\" class=\"gnt_m gnt_x gnt_x__lbl gnt_x__al\"\/>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">An OpenAI spokesperson told USA TODAY on Tuesday that the company does not have specifics to share on the number of users who enrolled for Sora on Monday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Looking to learn more? Here&#8217;s what to know about Sora, OpenAI&#8217;s new video-generating software.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"gnt_ar_b_mt\">How does Sora work?<\/h2>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Sora is a diffusion model, meaning it &#8220;generates a video by starting off with a base video that looks like static noise and gradually transforms it by removing the noise over many steps,&#8221; according to <a href=\"https:\/\/openai.com\/index\/sora-system-card\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-t-l=\":b|z|k|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">OpenAI<\/a>. Like DALL-E, Sora uses the &#8220;recaptioning technique&#8221; to take descriptive text captions for visual data training. As a result, the software is able to follow a user&#8217;s text instructions &#8220;more faithfully.&#8221;<\/p>\n<aside aria-label=\"advertisement\" class=\"gnt_m gnt_x gnt_x__lbl gnt_x__al\"\/>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">Sora can generate video from text instructions and existing images and video. For example, Sora is able to take an existing video and fill in missing parts or extend an ending that may not have previously been there.<\/p>\n<p class=\"gnt_ar_b_p\">According to <a href=\"https:\/\/openai.com\/index\/sora-is-here\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" data-t-l=\":b|z|k|${u}\" class=\"gnt_ar_b_a\">OpenAI<\/a>, Sora is capable of generating videos up to 1080p resolution in widescreen, vertical and square aspect ratios.
